Sec 3Admissions to all online programmes are conducted by the University. Eligibility
criteria and
procedures are set by UGC-DEB and the University, and are updated
periodically.
Key things to know
- Online UG and PG degrees are fully equivalent to conventional university degrees -- as per UGC Specification of Degrees, 2014.
- Post Graduate Diplomas awarded via online mode are also treated as equivalent to conventional PG Diplomas.
- Foreign and international learners can enrol in any online programme as per UGC (ODL & Online) Regulations 2020 and its amendments.
- You may move from one mode of learning (e.g., online to conventional) within the same University, subject to statutory and regulatory approvals.
- Admissions made during a recognition period remain valid for the complete programme, even if the university's recognition does not continue -- provided the programme runs per UGC norms.

Sec 4-5All registration is fully online. You need two mandatory IDs -- an
ABC
ID and a DEB-ID -- before you can complete enrolment.

Programme Structure
Sec 8-9All online programmes follow NEP 2020, NHEQF, CCFUP, and CCFPP
guidelines, as
approved by the Academic Council of the University.
Course categories in every programme
- Major / Discipline Specific Core (MJ/DSC) -- foundational and advanced courses in your primary discipline
- Minor / Discipline Specific Elective / Inter-Disciplinary (MI/DSE/ID) -- elective or cross-discipline subjects to broaden expertise
- Multidisciplinary Courses (MD) -- courses spanning multiple fields for a holistic perspective
- Ability Enhancement Courses (AEC) -- communication, languages, and general skills

Course load & credit norms
- Minimum 20 credits per semester -- typically 5 to 6 courses
- 1 credit = 30 hours of total study (synchronous sessions + asynchronous learning + self-study)
- Learning hours are distributed across: live sessions, discussion forums, e-tutorials, e-content, and continuous assessments
- You must register for courses every semester as per the Academic Calendar schedule

Sec 13Multiple Entry Multiple Exit (MEME) lets you stop at different
milestones and earn a
recognised qualification. You can also re-enter later and continue towards your full
degree -- within
the maximum programme duration.

All students -- regardless of exit point -- must complete their degree within the

Temporary Discontinuation
Sec 11Temporary breaks from the programme are allowed for medical or other valid
reasons
only -- with prior written approval of the Director, CDOE. Maximum
break allowed:
2 consecutive semesters (1 year).
Medical discontinuation
- Requires prior approval from Director, CDOE
- Can write backlog/arrear exams during the break (prescribed fee applicable)
- To re-join, you must be declared medically fit by the University's Medical Board
- Re-join from the next Academic Semester/Year
Other valid reasons
- Requires prior approval from Director, CDOE
- Maximum 2 consecutive semesters / 1 year
- Re-joining requires approval from competent University authority
- Re-join from next Academic Semester/Year
Debarment due to attendance shortage or disciplinary
suspension
does NOT qualify as temporary discontinuation. The overall degree must still be

What counts as attendance?
- Attending live and recorded online classes
- Engaging in online interactive sessions and webinars
- Submitting all assignments within deadlines
- Participating in academic discussions, forums, and programme-related tasks
What if your attendance is below 75%?
- Students identified as slow learners or falling short of 75% can attend doubt-clearing/remedial classes conducted before the End Semester Examination
- All activities assigned by course coordinators during this preparatory period count towards your attendance
- Students who reach the 75% threshold through remedial participation become eligible to appear for the End Semester Examination
Students who still do not meet 75% attendance even after remedial classes will be
detained
(SA) and will not be allowed to sit the End Semester Examination for that
semester.
