Policy on Refund of Fees on Withdrawal of Admission for Online Programmes

In compliance with the guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC) vide its notification dated October 2018, the following provisions are adopted as the “Policy on Refund of Fees on Withdrawal of Admission for Online Programmes” at Swami Rama Himalayan University:-

Submission & Validity of Application

1. Submission of Withdrawal / Refund Application

A candidate seeking withdrawal of admission shall submit a duly filled withdrawal/ refund application in the prescribed format to the In-Charge, Admission Cell-Online Programs, Swami Rama Himalayan University, within the timelines notified by the University (as per Important Dates).

2. Mode and Validity of Refund Request

Requests for refund made verbally, or submitted without the original fee payment receipts, shall not be considered. Refund of fees shall be processed strictly in accordance with the norms specified below.

The refund request must be sent from the registered email ID of the candidate to the designated refund email ID admission@srhuonline.com, with a copy marked to office.cdoe@srhu.edu.in.

UGC Five-Tier Refund System

Sec 3

In accordance with UGC regulations, in the event a student withdraws from the programme of study in which he/she is enrolled, the refund of fees* remitted for admission during the academic session shall be governed by the following mechanism:

1 100% 15 days or more prior to the formally notified last date of admission.
2 90% Less than 15 days prior to the formally notified last date of admission.
3 80% 15 days or less after the formally notified last date of admission.
4 50% 30 days or less, but more than 15 days, after the last date of admission.
5 00% More than 30 days after the formally notified last date of admission.

Annual, Lumpsum & Loan Payments

3.2 Refund in case of Fee Paid: Annual

3.2.1 Withdrawal up to 30 days: Refund shall be processed in accordance with the Five-Tier Mechanism above.

3.2.2 Withdrawal after 30 days: Fee deposited shall be refunded after deduction of the actual programme fee, enrolment fee and examination fee applicable for the first semester. Subsequent semester fee shall be refunded, as applicable.

3.3 Refund in case of Fee Paid: Lumpsum

3.3.1 Withdrawal up to 30 days: Refund shall be processed in accordance with the Five-Tier Mechanism above.

3.3.2 Withdrawal after 30 days: Fee deposited shall be refunded after deduction of the applicable programme fee, enrolment fee and examination fee for the first semester. Remaining fee for the subsequent semesters shall be refunded, as applicable.

4. Credit Card / EMI / Bank Loan
  • Refund shall be credited to student's account only; the University is not liable for interaction with the student’s bank or credit card authority.
  • Loans: No objection certificate (NOC) is to be procured by the student from Loan/Finance company. Refund shall be applicable as per guidelines of Loan / Finance company.

International Students

  • Applicability: Provisions apply to all international students admitted to Online Programmes.
  • Withdrawal Limit: Requests received up to 30 days from the last date of admission follow the UGC mechanism.
  • Currency: All refunds processed in Indian Rupees (INR) only. Exchange rates at the time of processing apply.
  • Charges: All bank charges, foreign exchange charges, and intermediary fees shall be borne by the applicant.
  • Mode: Credited only to the applicant’s bank account. Processing time may be longer due to international regulations.
  • Non-Refundable: Application/registration fees are non-refundable. No refund in cases of misrepresentation or concealment of facts.

General Conditions

  • Effective Date: Date of receipt of complete withdrawal request determines eligibility.
  • Verification: Processed only after due verification per UGC and University norms.
  • Payment Mode: Payment via NEFT/RTGS/Cheque only. NRI/Foreign student refunds as per RBI/Foreign Exchange regulations.
  • No Auto-Withdrawal: No admission is considered auto-withdrawal until required formalities are completed.
  • Cancellation: Admission cancelled for false information/certificates shall result in forfeiture of fees and liability for remaining duration's fees.
  • No Interest: No interest is payable on refund of fees/deposit.
  • Jurisdiction: All disputes within Dehradun jurisdiction only.
  • Amendments: The University reserves the right to interpret, alter, or amend this policy without notice.
For any unforeseen issues or differences of interpretation, the President's decision shall be final and binding.
